Narkanda India – The Adventure Tourism for Everyone

Situated at an attitude of 2708 meters on the Hindustan Tibet road (NH – 22), Narkanda offers a spectacular view of snow ranges with some beautiful aminities like adventure tourism and adventure sports. During these days the slopes come alive with skiers. It is a skiing resort in winter. It connects Shimla with Rampur and a detour also goes to Thanedhar, the prime apple belt of Himachal Pradesh. The skiing at Narkanda was started in 1980 and since then HPTDC is conducting skiing courses every year. Various kind of adventure sports are conducted here by HPTDC every year in winter like paragliding with guide, trekking, skiing and hiking in and around Narkanda.

 

The area has forests of fir and spruce, with a smattering of maple, aspen and cedar trees. A wooded trek route takes you to Hatu Peak unfolding a magnificent vista of undulating meadows, snow peaks and valleys.

 

How To Get Narkanda:

 

By Road: Narkanda is on the National Highway connecting Shimla to Kinnaur means that there is never a shortage of buses connecting one with Shimla. Shimla is at a distance of around 60-km and it takes only two hours to drive down to Narkanda from there.

Tannu Jubbar Lake, Trek To Hatu Peak, A further 15 minute walk from Hatu peak takes you to the stunning meadows of Jau-Baug are main attraction of Narkanda.
